Diver Missing

Near Scharendijke in Zeeland, a 30-year-old diver from Goes has been missing since Monday morning. The search by the Royal Dutch Rescue Company with ships and a helicopter was unsuccessful and was stopped. The police was unable to locate the man using sonar devices on Monday, but they will go on with the search together with the Royal Dutch Navy on Tuesday. The unfortunate man jumped together with his diving companion in the water near his diving club in Scharendijke. When the man did not come to the surface, his friend alerted the diving center. Almost immediately, three boats and two diving teams were on the search. A Belgian search helicopter also joined the forces at the Grevelingenmeer. The bad weather condition hindered the work and the search was stopped after a while without any results. On Tuesday the Royal Dutch Navy will bring in equipment which was not available during the search on Monday.
