Six arrested in Venlo after 40-year-old man found dead in Maas
Six people have been arrested in connection with the death of 40-year-old Lukasz, whose body was found in the Maas near Velden on February 1. Authorities confirmed that Lukasz’s death was the result of foul play.
The arrests were made Monday morning in Venlo. Those taken into custody include a 54-year-old woman, a 35-year-old man, a 53-year-old man, a 24-year-old man, another 35-year-old man, and a 39-year-old man.
All six are suspected of murder or manslaughter and of disposing of the victim’s body. They are being held under strict restrictions, allowing contact only with their attorneys.
Investigators escalated the case to a large-scale investigation team (TGO) working with the Public Prosecution Service. Police made repeated appeals for public assistance, asking witnesses who may have seen anything at the discovery site to come forward and encouraging anyone with footage from the area around Lukasz’s home on Veldenseweg in Venlo to share it. Flyers with similar requests were distributed later in February.
