Man found dead in Schiedam, police investigate "suspicious circumstances"

A 49-year-old man was found dead Thursday in his home on Dirk van Wassenaarstraat in Schiedam, police said Sunday. Authorities have not ruled out foul play. Officers were called after the man had been unreachable for several days.

It is unclear when the man died, but police believe he may have passed away earlier in the week.

Upon arriving at his residence, they discovered his body under “suspicious circumstances.” A Major Crime Team has been launched to investigate.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the man in the past two weeks or who may have captured him on camera. The man was known to frequently wear a distinctive pink hat or a cap with fake dreadlocks, police said.
