KLM cancels 295 flights at Schiphol on Sunday; Further delays expected
KLM canceled 295 flights on Sunday at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport due to winter weather, following major disruptions on Friday and Saturday.
The airline had already canceled 114 flights on Friday for Saturday departures, and an additional 73 flights were canceled on Saturday itself. A spokesperson for Schiphol said Sunday is expected to see the same level of disruption, with numerous cancellations and widespread delays.
Operations at Schiphol are hindered by snow showers, de-icing of aircraft, and unfavorable wind conditions, which have reduced runway capacity. The airport also warned that snowfall is expected early Sunday evening, likely causing further disruptions.
KLM advised passengers to monitor the latest flight information and said it is actively rebooking travelers on the next available flights. The airline noted that the winter conditions may continue, potentially leading to additional cancellations.
