Inmate dies by suicide at Spijkenisse police station

An inmate at the Spijkenisse police station died by suicide, authorities confirmed.

Emergency responders attempted to resuscitate the man but were unsuccessful, according to the police on X.

The incident is now under investigation by the Rijksrecherche, the national police watchdog responsible for examining serious incidents involving law enforcement.
