Maastricht teacher fired over sexually suggestive video of him circulating online
The Waldorf secondary school in Maastricht dismissed an economics and mathematics teacher because of a sexually suggestive video of him that is circulating on social media. Investigators determined that the video is genuine and not a deepfake, LVO, the education association that covers the school, told De Limburger.
The school involved is the Bernard Lievegoed Waldorf School. The school informed all parents about the “inappropriate images” by letter.
According to De Limburger, it concerns a video montage of less than 40 seconds, showing photos, screenshots, music, and a very short video. The teacher is seen in his past as a Carnival prince, followed by footage of an extremely sexually suggestive chat conversation between the teacher and a boy, who was 17 years old at the time. Finally, a masturbating man wearing a bracelet similar to the teacher’s is briefly shown.
“We distance ourselves from the content of this video,” principal Patricia Hanssen wrote to parents. “As far as we know, the footage was taken in private, and no students from our school were involved in its content.”
The school asked children to delete the video and not share it further.
Eugène Bernard of the LVO called the video unacceptable. He said that the LVO had the video thoroughly investigated and can confirm its authenticity. He would not say whether the teacher confessed to making it.
“People at the school are shocked, and there’s a lot of unrest. We had to act quickly: first, we sent the letter to the parents, and tomorrow, all students will be informed. Of course, we will discuss with the students at the school,” Bernard said.
