Supermarkets recall slavinken over risk of metal fragments
Dutch authorities are warning consumers after several supermarkets recalled slavinken, a traditional Dutch pork roll, due to the risk of small metal fragments. The recalls affect products sold at Boon’s Markt, Poiesz, Vomar, and SPAR, with specific packaging and expiration dates listed by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
The NVWA issued a safety alert on November 29, 2025, urging consumers not to eat the affected slavinken. Shoppers who have purchased the products can return them to the stores for a full refund, even without a receipt.
The recall covers multiple product sizes and expiration dates. At Boon’s Markt, affected items include house-brand slavinken in 2 x 100-gram and 5 x 100-gram packages, all with a “best before” date of December 7, 2025, and barcodes 8717755126429, 8717755126436, and 8717755126450.
Poiesz recalled its 2 x 100-gram slavinken with barcode 8717755126764, also with a best-before date of December 7. SPAR’s recalled 2 x 100-gram slavinken (barcode 8717755126962) expire December 4, while Vomar’s 2 x 100-gram slavinken (barcode 8717755128867) also expire December 7.
