Dutch business investments rise almost 3% in September after two-month decline
Dutch business investments in tangible fixed assets rose 2.7 percent in September 2025 compared with the same month last year, reversing two months of decline, the CBS reported.
The growth was driven by increased spending on aircraft, buildings, machinery—including defense equipment—and infrastructure. Investment in other road transport, such as trailers, trucks, and vans, continued to decline.
The CBS also tracks investment conditions through its monthly investment radar, which evaluates factors such as market demand and financial market conditions. According to the November 2025 radar, conditions for investments were less unfavorable than in September. This was mainly due to larger year-on-year increases in stock prices and less negative consumer sentiment.
Historical data from CBS show that investment growth has fluctuated in recent years, with notable swings: a 10.2 percent increase in June 2025 followed by the July decline, and prior years saw variations ranging from double-digit increases to contractions of over 8 percent.
