Man rapes woman after pulling her into the bushes in Dutch town; Police seek witnesses

A man dragged a woman into the bushes and raped her in Beinsdorp on Wednesday evening. The police are looking for the man and have asked witnesses to come forward.

The sex crime occurred at around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday on Het Langepad in Beinsdorp, a town that forms part of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. According to the police, the man walked up to the woman, went to stand next to her, and then dragged her into the nearby bushes. “There, he raped the victim.”

The man fled after raping the woman, and she called the police. Responding officers searched the area with a helicopter and a sniffer dog, but did not find the suspect.

The woman did not know the rapist, but could give the police a description. The police are looking for a light-skinned man with a long, narrow head and black hair. He was wearing black pants and a black jacket and spoke Dutch with a foreign accent, the police said.

Investigators asked witnesses or anyone with relevant information or camera footage from the area around Het Langepad to come forward.
