Passenger thrown from car in A27 near Bavel collision; Police seek hit-and-run driver

A passenger was seriously injured Saturday in a multi-vehicle collision on the A27 near Bavel, authorities said. According to NOS, the person was thrown from a car during the crash and ended up on the highway.

Police said one of the vehicles involved struck the occupant and then fled the scene. Officers are searching for the driver and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Two other cars were damaged in the incident. The injured passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The exact cause of the collision is under investigation. Authorities urged witnesses to report what they saw to help identify the fleeing driver.

The A27 connector from Breda to Tilburg was closed temporarily while police examined the scene.
