17 Injured after public bus slams into truck in Zeeland’s Borsele

Seventeen people were injured Thursday when a public bus rear-ended a truck on the N62 near Nieuwdorp in the Zeeland municipality of Borsele, according to NOS.

Four bus passengers were taken to the hospital by ambulance, while 13 others sustained minor injuries and were transported by another bus to a shelter where a Red Cross emergency team provided assistance, according to the regional safety authority.

The collision left the bus heavily damaged. Fire, police, and ambulance crews responded to the scene to evacuate passengers.

The N62 was closed in the direction of Goes to allow emergency workers to operate safely, with traffic diverted onto alternate routes, authorities said. The safety authority confirmed the crash was a rear-end collision but said the cause remained unclear.
