Showers mixed with sunshine in the Netherlands; Higher temps on Wednesday

The weather in the Netherlands will be a mixed bag this week, with showers and sunshine alternating and temperatures mostly remaining just below summer values of 25 degrees Celsius. Wednesday will be a lot warmer, but it is back to cooler temps and showers on Thursday. From Friday, the weather should shift back to fairly sunny and often dry, Weeronline expects.

Monday started cloudy in most places with showers here and there. The sun may break through and shine for a while, but with a moderate to strong westerly wind, it won’t feel much like summer. The afternoon should hold more sunshine. Maximums will climb to between 18 degrees on the Wadden Islands and 23 degrees in parts of Noord-Brabant and Limburg.

This evening will be dry everywhere with sunny periods. The westerly wind will gradually decrease in strength. Minimums will drop to between 12 degrees inland and 16 degrees at sea.

Tuesday will start with sunshine in the south, but clouds everywhere else. The cloud cover will intensify as the day continues, bringing occasional showers to the middle and north of the country. The southeasterly wind will be moderate to fairly strong, and maximums will range between 20 and 23 degrees. The south will be slightly warmer, maybe hitting 25 degrees in some places.

Wednesday will be considerably warmer than the rest of the week. The afternoon will see long sunny spells, interrupted by a few cumulus clouds. Maximums will range from 22 degrees on the Wadden to up to 30 degrees in some places in the south.

Thursday will be back to showers across the country, possibly with thunderstorms. Maximums will range between 20 and 24 degrees.

From Friday, the weather should turn back to fairly sunny and often dry for a few days. Over the weekend, tropical temperatures of 30 degrees may be in sight again in the south.
