Crowds prevent Armin van Buuren from performing on Amsterdam A10 ring road festival
Due to massive crowds, Armin van Buren was not allowed to perform during the Festival op de Ring on the A10 near Amsterdam on Saturday. The DJ was supposed to join colleague Benwal for a b2b and a joint performance, but that did not happen.
“Unfortunately, the police didn't allow me and Armin to go b2b because of safety for safety reasons,” Benwal wrote with a photo of him and Van Buuren, looking at the camera with sad faces, on his Instagram stories. “But the ending was so magical. And that b2b with Armin will happen one day.”
Van Buuren responded to the story with a promise to stand behind the turntables together one day.
Benwal’s performance at Audio Obscura, part of the Festival op de Ring, was temporarily halted on Saturday evening when visitors started climbing over the fences. The police and enforcement officers restored order, and the performance could continue.
But when the music was turned back on again for the last half an hour, it was too late for Armin to perform, the organizers said to ANP.
