ANWB warns for traffic, road closures this weekend due to A10 festival and NATO Summit
The ANWB are expecting the roads to be very busy from Friday due to the party to celebrate Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary and the NATO Summit. In addition, the recreational traffic will cause extra traffic jams, the travelers association said.
The 750th anniversary of the city will be celebrated with an event on the A10 motorway. The A10 West, Zuid, and Oost will be closed off on Friday night at 9 p.m. between the connection of the A5 and the connection with the A1 and the party will begin on Saturday. The road will be free again on Sunday at 3 p.m. The outer ring road will remain open for emergency services and public transport. The ANWB are expecting the surrounding roads to be very busy.
Several roads are closed on Sunday between Amsterdam and The Hague due to the NATO Summit. Drivers should expect roads to be closed and traffic delays between the capital city and The Hague, where the summit will take place.
Traffic is also expected to be busy next Thursday, as Germans travel to the Netherlands for a day trip or a long weekend during a public holiday. According to the ANWB, road users will mainly notice this at border crossings, outlet centres and on Zeeland roads. In addition, the Pinkpop festival campsite will open on Thursday afternoon, making it busier on the A2 and A76 towards Landgraaf.
