Claude performing 12th at Eurovision finals
Dutch singer Claude will perform 12th in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, after Latvia and before Finland. Norway will open the show in Basel, and Albania will close it.
Claude’s position was determined by the producer. All finalists draw a lot for when they’ll perform. Some state first half, some second half, and some producer’s choice. Clude drew a producer’s choice.
The bookmakers currently has Claude, with his song C’est La Vie, ranked fourth most likely to win the Eurovision Song Contest, with a 6 percent chance of winning, NU.nl reported.
The Dutch singer’s song is an ode to his mother. “She always taught me that life will not always be easy, but you should always try to see the bright side,” Claude said about his mom and his song.
Sweden’s KAJ is the bookies’ favorite with a 41 percent chance of winning, followed by Austria’s JJ at 21 percent, and France’s Louane with 8 percent. Sweden will perform 23rd on Saturday, Austria 9th, and France 24th.
Claude qualified for the finals during the first semi-final on Tuesday. Another ten finalists were announced on Thursday. The Big Five - the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, and France - were already assured of a spot. As was the host country, Switzerland.
