Three arrested after large fight breaks out in Katwijk’s nightlife district

Police intervened in a massive fight involving approximately 100 people in Katwijk’s nightlife district late Saturday night, resulting in three arrests, NOS reports. The confrontation, which took place in the Badstraat area, prompted the police to clear the street after multiple disturbances.

Around midnight, authorities received a report of a fight. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the situation still tense, with several smaller altercations breaking out. To prevent further escalation, police decided to evacuate the area, instructing everyone to leave.

When the crowd did not comply with the order, the police took action. Officers used a baton to control the crowd, and one individual was tasered during the intervention.

During the disturbance, one officer was struck in the face. The suspect was arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer.
