Child killed by agricultural vehicle in Stolwijk

A child was killed Friday afternoon in Stolwijk, in the municipality of Krimpenerwaard, after being struck by an agricultural vehicle, Omroep West reports. Emergency services responded to the scene, but were unable to save the child.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Beijerscheweg, a road in Stolwijk. In addition to police and ambulances, a trauma helicopter was called to assist at the scene.

Despite the rapid response, the child succumbed to their injuries shortly after the accident occurred.

The age and identity of the child have not been disclosed. Authorities have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and are working to determine what led to the tragic event.
