Fourth suspect arrested in Breda kidnapping case
Police have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the kidnapping and assault of a 24-year-old man in Breda. The suspect, a 25-year-old man from Breda, was taken into custody on Friday, police confirmed.
Earlier this week, authorities had already detained three other men on suspicion of involvement. A 24-year-old man from Zundert was arrested on Monday, followed by two men from Breda, aged 26 and 37, who were taken into custody between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred last week near the SPRINT athletics club on Dr. Schaepmanlaan in Breda. Around midnight, three suspects allegedly forced the victim into a van. Witnesses reported the abduction to the police. The victim reappeared the following day and was found to have been assaulted.
Police believe the kidnapping was not random. "We hope this fourth arrest is a crucial step in preventing further escalation," authorities stated.
All four suspects remain in custody under full restrictions, meaning they are only allowed to communicate with their legal representatives.
