Gunshots fired at Groningen home, police seek witnesses

Police are investigating after a home on Van Eedenstraat in Groningen was targeted by gunfire early Saturday morning, January 18. Multiple shots were fired at the house around 3:25 a.m., causing damage to the property. No one was injured.

Authorities have yet to make any arrests and are appealing for witnesses or camera footage to help identify those responsible.

Officers rushed to the scene after receiving a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered evidence of multiple shots aimed at the residence. While no one inside the home was hurt, the attack left visible damage to the building.

Investigators have launched a full-scale investigation, collecting forensic evidence and speaking to neighbors in search of leads.

Police are calling on residents to help piece together what happened. "If you saw or heard anything unusual near Van Eedenstraat around 3:00 a.m., or if you have security or doorbell camera footage, we urge you to contact us," they said in a statement.
