Researchers; rise in AI will result in the loss and also creation of millions of jobs

Millions of people worldwide will lose their jobs between now and 2030 due to the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robots. But the technology will also create millions of new jobs, an internationally conducted research by the World Economic Forum (WEF) has reported. The University of Amsterdam was involved in the research.

The researchers think that around a third of the work will still be performed fully by people by 2030. Technology will take over a third of human labor, and the rest will be performed by humans and technology together.

Many employee's skills will be outdated and no longer necessary in a couple of years, according to the study. The researchers mentioned secretaries and cashiers as examples of this.

Some people can be retrained or upskilled, but at the same time, “11 percent of the workforce will not receive the necessary training and will lose their jobs.”

The new jobs will all be related to technology in some way, like further developing self-driving cars, apps, and self-learning machines.
