Two young men killed, one hurt after car slams into tree east of Arnhem

Two young men from Doesburg died after their car crashed into a tree on Mariëndaalseweg in Angerlo, according to Politie Gelderland.

The accident occurred shortly before 18:00. The 20-year-old passenger died at the scene, and the 18-year-old driver succumbed to his injuries later.

The third occupant, an 18-year-old man from the municipality of Zevenaar, survived the crash but sustained injuries. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and his condition has not been disclosed.

Police are conducting further investigation into the cause of the accident. "We wish all those involved and their loved ones much strength," said Politie Gelderland on X.
