Woman killed in Amsterdam shelter; Police investigating

A 37-year-old woman was killed in a Salvation Army shelter in Amsterdam on Thursday evening. The police arrested a 49-year-old man and are investigating.

The police responded to a report of an incident at the shelter on Kikkensteinstraat at around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. “Officers at the scene found a woman under suspicious circumstances,” the police said.

First responders tried to resuscitate the woman, but it was to no avail. She died at the shelter.

The police arrested a 49-year-old man. “His involvement is being investigated.”

Investigators asked witnesses to come forward.
