Dutch government bringing 50 companies to Las Vegas tech fair CES

Minister of Economic Affairs Dirk Beljaarts will travel with 50 Dutch companies to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January. The event is the largest technology fair in the world. The participating companies are from all around the country and work in various sectors like the circular economy, cyber security, and sustainable mobility.

“The CES is the number one place globally for innovative companies to present their solutions to a large crowd and investors,” Beljaarts added. One of the companies that will travel with the minister is DuckDuckGoose, which has identified a method to detect “deep fakes” and therefore prevent identity fraud.

Veridies, a company that has developed a technology to analyze various pieces of plastic on an industrial scale for their suitability for recycling, will also be present along with E-Magy, who is working on a new generation of batteries for electric vehicles.

The CES is an annual event that brings together more than 150,000 companies and investors from around 150 countries. “The event fits the goal of the Cabinet to stimulate innovation and support start and scale-ups with their growth and finding a suitable financier,” said Beljaarts. According to him, CES is becoming less about gadgets and more about innovations that shape our future.

It will be the ninth time that the Netherlands is taking part. Many Dutch companies got their breakthrough from CES. The tech fair is from 7 to 10 January 2025.
