The abandoned school building was set to temporarily shelter 100 asylum seekers from Friday.
According to Omroep Gelderland, the shelter caused considerable unrest among locals, especially parents with children in the adjacent primary school. On Tuesday, someone hung banners against the shelter on the empty building.
