September will be warm with temperatures up to 30 degrees and local thunderstorms
The summer weather of recent weeks will continue at the beginning of September. The Dutch will await lots of sunshine, sultry air, and pleasant temperatures to round off the late summer this month.
In the first week of September, warm and humid air flows over the Netherlands with a southerly current. At the beginning of September, temperatures are usually between 19 degrees in the northwest and 21 degrees in the southeast. According to Weeronline, the daily highs are now usually between 22 and 27 degrees.
In the east and southeast in particular, temperatures can rise to 30 degrees with plenty of sunshine. The air is very humid, so it will be muggy in these parts of the country.
However, the high temperatures and warm, humid air regularly lead to some local rainfall and thunderstorms. However, this does not mean that it will rain every day. Most days, the showers won't develop until late afternoon and evening, and it will still be sunny and very warm at first. Occasionally, it will be showery for most of the day. With the showers, lot of rain and thunderstorms in a short time can be expected, the weather service reports.
The weather pattern of occasional heavy showers and lots of sunshine is likely to continue until mid-September. By the time half of the month has passed, temperatures will drop to as low as 18 degrees.
