NVWA warns ECORAN solar panels can cause electric shock
Some solar panels from ECORAN GmbH can cause an electric shock when touched. The reason for this is that the backs of the panels are of poor quality. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) issued a warning from the manufacturer on Thursday against touching the solar panels.
The manufacturer has recognized the problems and writes that in certain weather conditions, the risk of “physical or fatal injury from electric shock” cannot be ruled out. “Only have the solar system checked by qualified or competent persons,” writes ECORAN. If a mechanic comes, he or she should be made aware of the potential danger.
According to ECORAN, formerly known as SCHOTT Solar, it concerns five different products from the manufacturer.
Furthermore, the company emphasized the importance of being careful with parts attached to the solar panels, such as cables and plugs.
