Turkeys found roaming the streets of Zuid-Holland town

The animal foundations are used to helping injured or lost cats, dogs, and parrots, but this week, Dierenhulp Westland responded to a very strange call. A group of 13 turkeys were running loose in the Zuid-Holland town of Honselersdijk.

A local encountered the strange flock on Middel Broekweg on Tuesday afternoon. He herded the animals into his shed and called the animal ambulance. Dierenhulp Westland collected them and took them to its shelter in ‘s-Gravenzande.

It took the foundation hours to figure out where the animals came from - who loses track of 13 large turkeys? After multiple phone calls and appeals for information shared on social media, the owner contacted Dierenhulp Westland and arranged to collect their birds.

The foundation did not say who the owner was or how they lost their turkeys.
