Firefighters discovered the car at the bottom of the river at around 10:30 a.m. Because the car's origin was unclear, they called the police and deployed a fire brigade diving team.
The police decided to pull the car to the side and hoist it out of the water with a crane for further investigation. It quickly became clear that the car belonged to the fire brigade itself.
The vehicle is a practice car. The fire brigade sometimes puts these vehicles in the water so that its divers can practice rescue operations. The wreck was likely forgotten after an earlier exercise.
It is unclear how long it has been in the water or how the fire brigade lost track of an entire car.
