Apple and Meta may collaborate to incorporate AI models into their systems

Apple and Facebook's parent company may collaborate in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Apple and Facebook owner Meta discussed integrating Meta's generative AI model into the new AI system Apple Intelligence, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports based on insiders.

According to the sources, Apple is having similar discussions with AI startups Anthropic and Perplexity. Part of the discussions is to have the three partners sell subscriptions for their services through Apple Intelligence. The sources emphasize that the deals have not yet been completed and could fail.

The merger would allow Apple to better compete in AI applications. The tech group lags behind other large tech companies in this area. It was previously announced that Apple will collaborate with OpenAI, making ChatGPT available on iPhones. Apple is also in discussions with Alphabet, the company behind Google, for a license to use Google's AI model.

Apple also faces problems with launching certain artificial intelligence (AI) products in Europe due to uncertainties about European Union regulations that limit the power of big tech companies. According to the company, this concerns Apple Intelligence, iPhone Mirroring, and SharePlay Screen Sharing, which will not be available to users in the EU this year.
