Police search meadow for armed suspects in Rotterdam shooting incident
The Special Interventions Unit of the police is searching a meadow near Moordrecht for suspects in a shooting incident in Rotterdam. On Saturday around 11:45 a.m., officers received a report of shots fired in Port-Said Street in the Prins Alexander district.
After the shooting incident, a car reportedly drove away. Shortly after, investigations showed that shots had indeed been fired. According to the police, no one was injured.
On Saturday afternoon, a car police say was involved in the incident was found on the N457 near Moordrecht. Because the two suspects are in possession of dangerous firearms, special units are looking for them, a police spokeswoman said. Officers from the Special Operations Service and a search dog searched the area but were unable to find the suspects.
