Missing 3-year-old in Zevenhuizen found shopping for groceries

A 3-year-old girl wandering away from her home in Zevenhuizen prompted quite a bit of panic this weekend. She turned out to have gone to the local supermarket to do some grocery shopping, the local police said on Instagram.

The girl’s parents called the police on Sunday afternoon in a panic to report the child missing. She had slipped away from home in an unguarded moment.

Responding officers quickly began searching with locals. While they were still searching, Jumbo contacted the police to report a suspiciously young shopper. It turned out to be the missing girl.

“She was grocery shopping and had already filled her small shopping cart,” the police said. “Fortunately, we were able to reunite the girl with her parents in good health.”

The police thanked the locals who helped search for the girl and the alert supermarket employees.
