Seriously injured in shooting incident in Groningen
A 22-year-old woman from Groningen was seriously injured in a shooting incident in her hometown early on Sunday morning. The police arrested a 31-year-old man from Delfzijl and found a firearm. The victim was taken to hospital.
The incident happened on the Rademarkt on Sunday around 6 a.m. The police reported on X that an extensive investigation had been launched. Meanwhile, the suspect is in custody and is being interrogated.
This was the second violent incident in Groningen over the weekend. On Friday night, a 28-year-old man was injured in a stabbing on the Vrydemalaan in Groningen. The resident was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The police arrested a 39-year-old woman from Groningen on Saturday afternoon.
The incident took place around 11 p.m. on Friday. Shortly after the attack, the suspect was arrested, the police reported. The police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested a suspect shortly afterwards.
The police started an investigation and spoke to several witnesses. Later, the suspect was arrested. "She will be interrogated, and her involvement in the stabbing incident is being investigated," police said on Saturday.
According to Meternieuws.nl, the police also provided help to an injured dog involved in the stabbing incident.
