House closed in Amsterdam after series of explosions

A house on the Elzenhagensingel in Amsterdam-Noord has been closed for three months by order of the mayor. The municipality reported on Saturday that the house has been "repeatedly the target of violent incidents" in three months. A fire was set, and there was an explosion.

"This has a major impact on the neighborhood. The police findings show that there is a risk of recurrence," the municipality said. "To immediately restore public order and prevent a recurrence, the house is immediately closed for three months."

There was an explosion at the house last Wednesday night. Residents were startled by a loud bang, and a fire broke out at the front door of an apartment. No one was injured in the incident.
