Princess Alexia registers at University of Groningen
Princess Alexia may start her studies at the University of Groningen (RUG) in September. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima’s middle daughter registered there, a spokesperson for the university told RTL Nieuws.
The spokesperson stressed that Alexia has only registered and has not fully enrolled yet. It is not uncommon for students to register at multiple institutions. “Someone only enrolls when they actually start and have paid the tuition fees,” the spokesperson said. Therefore, Alexia may still pick a different university or university of applied sciences.
The 18-year-old princess hasn’t revealed what she wants to study. “I’ll let you know when I know,” she responded to questions about this on King’s Day. She took a gap year this past year, during which she “traveled a lot” and learned about new cultures, she said on King’s Day.
Her older sister, Amalia, studies studies politics, psychology, law, and economics at the University of Amsterdam.
