Several things you have to prepare when visiting the Netherlands

The Netherlands is a small yet beautiful country that offers many things to its visitors, from its iconic windmills to its picturesque canals and vibrant cities. Those things invite so many tourists to visit this country each year. So, if you want to have a tour in Europe, this country must be included in your tour. However, there are several things you have to prepare, such as an eSim for the Netherlands, if you want to visit this beautiful country in Europe as follows.

Communication device

The first thing you have to prepare when you visit the Netherlands is a communication device. The communication device is most likely your smartphone that contains your personal information such as bank account and anything you need during your visit to this country. You can also use the device to call numbers that are important in case of emergency, such as the numbers of the local police station or your family. However, you have to make sure that you have an eSim card that can work using the best network in this country. Otherwise, your smartphone will be rendered useless and you can only use it in areas covered with wifi networks.

Travel documents

Another thing that is no less important to prepare when you visit the Netherlands is travel documents. Those travel documents include your passport that is still valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and your ID card. You may also need to prepare your driver’s license in case you want to rent a vehicle during your stay in this country. Those documents are needed because they are the ones that will be asked by the authorities in this country every time you meet them. Besides, those documents will also ensure that you can be recognized if anything bad happens to you, so that the authorities can trace your origin and contact your family.

Weather-appropriate clothing

The third thing you have to prepare when visiting the Netherlands is weather-appropriate clothing. This is because the Netherlands is famous for its unpredictable weather, from mild summers to cold winters. Also, although the precipitation in this country is not so high, it can rain at any time. So, it’s best to check the weather forecast in this country before you visit it so that you can prepare weather-appropriate clothing for your trip. Bringing various kinds of clothing from thick clothes to raincoats may be a good idea, but it’s still best to travel light by bringing as few clothes as possible.

Cultural etiquette and customs

Although this is additional, it won’t hurt to familiarize yourself with cultural etiquette and customs of the Dutch people. This country is very famous for its bicycles, so you can expect to meet many people riding bicycles in cities. So, you may want to ride some bicycles as well when you have the chance. Also, Dutch people value punctuality, so you have to keep in mind to always be on time for everything you do in this country, such as appointments and reservations.
