Pedestrian struck and killed by taxi in Amsterdam Nieuw-West

A pedestrian died on Saturday evening after being hit by a taxi on Seineweg in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, AT5 reported.

The accident occurred around 08:00 p.m. near the entrance to De Bretten allotment garden. Several emergency services responded. A police spokesperson confirmed to ANP that a taxi was involved in the accident.

According to AT5, the victim is a man, but his age has not been determined.

The taxi driver was taken to the police station to provide a statement. The police are currently investigating the accident.
