Three Michelin star Inter Scaldes sold to Amsterdam hotel group
After 22 years, Head Chef Jannis Brevet and Hostess Claudia Brevet will close Inter Scaldes, the three Michelin star restaurant and small hotel in Kruiningen, Zeeland. The property will become part of the Pillows Hotels group, having been acquired by Alex Mulder, owner of investment company Amerborgh.
By mid-September, the business in Kruiningen will be in the hands of Jeroen Achtien and his wife Sanne. Achtien is still a chef at the Hotel Vitznauerhof in Vitznau, Switzerland, where he heads Restaurant Sens, which has two Michelin stars.
Jeroen and Sanne Achtien met each other while working at Restaurant De Librije in Zwolle. Like Inter Scaldes, that restaurant also has three Michelin stars.
“After 48 years in the kitchen, including 22 years together with wife Claudia at Inter Scaldes, it is nice to be able to stop at a high point,” said Brevet in a press statement. “I look forward to new challenges in the field of consulting in order to share my knowledge, experience and love for the profession with new talent. Where one door closes, another opens.” Brevet will remain involved with Inter Scaldes until the end of December.
Jeroen Achtien said that he and his wife are ready to start their own business. “The challenge is great, and I have many ideas about how to make the most out of it, and how to create a high-quality concept together with Sanne.”
