Spring has (almost) sprung: Bright and sunny weekend ahead

A glimpse of Spring will appear this weekend. Saturday will be dry and sunny with only a mild breeze, while Sunday will be slightly cloudier but nevertheless still and dry, according to the meteorological institute, KNMI. Going into next week the chance of rain will remain low and the sun will shine on most days. The wind will intensify a bit on Thursday, but there will mostly be a gentle breeze.

Saturday morning will be especially bright, with an 80 percent chance of sunshine. Some clouds will appear as the day progresses, particularly in the northeast and east. However, the skies will be clear again by evening. The temperatures will stay around 5 degrees Celsius by the coast and 10 degrees in the south of the country.

The low temperature going into Sunday could fall down towards a brisk -2 degrees. As the morning progresses into the afternoon, it should rise up to around 6 or 7 degrees. There will again be very little chance of rain, around 10 percent, but unfortunately, the sun only has a 30 percent chance of bursting through the clouds, the KNMI predicted. Overall it will still be a pleasant day, but not as bright as Saturday.

The following week will follow a similar weather pattern; low rain and reasonably sunny. The sunniest days will be Wednesday and Thursday, and Monday should be the cloudiest. The wind will remain low, staying at around 16 km/h and peaking on Thursday when it’s likely to reach 24 km/h.

The temperature will likely remain around 6 - 10 degrees with a low of -3 degrees expected.
