New Year's Eve 2021 could be warmest ever recorded
At the turn of the year, the weather will be favorable for people who plan to go outside around midnight. According to weer.nl, the weather will be mild on December 31 and it may even be the warmest New Year's Eve ever measured.
Friday seems to be mostly dry, with only a slight chance of rain. There is also a chance of some sun during the day. With a high of 12 to 15 degrees Celsius and little wind, it does not appear to be winter.
Even at midnight, Weer.nl expected it to be a mild 10 to 12 degrees. On January 1, the weather will not change much. According to Weer.nl, temperatures remain high for this time of year at 11 to 13 degrees. The weather will be similar to New Year's Eve, but there is a slightly higher chance of rain.
Last year, the KNMI issued a code yellow warning due to fog. In addition, around midnight, there was no wind in many places, so the fog lingered.
New Year's Day 2021 was much colder, with a high of two to four degrees.
Despite the bad weather and the fireworks ban, the police were still busy last year. There were many reports of disturbances and police also had to deal with aggression and violence against emergency responders. The police registered more incidents than in previous years. The increase could be due to citizens reporting disturbances earlier because of the fireworks ban.
