Law Changes 2021: Family
The Dutch government will implement over 60 new rules, regulations, and law changes at the stroke of midnight on January 1. Below is a summary of the 2021 changes made in the category Family:
The childcare subsidies will increase for most parents in the Netherlands. The government will look to reimburse parents for up to 8.46 euros per hour paid for daycare, 7.27 euros hourly for after school care, and 6.49 euros for some other child care services. The allowance will apply for up to 230 hours per child on a monthly basis. A table and test calculation was readied for people to estimate what they will receive.
The tax office may no longer reclaim an entire year of childcare subsidies if a portion of an invoice has gone unpaid. The tax office will only be allowed to freeze subsidies or issue fines when someone has had enough time to respond to an allegation.
Advertisements may no longer be shown to people watching children's television programs.
Public broadcasters face bans from advertising on their online platforms.
Alimony payments and child support for separated parents will be adjusted upwards by an indexed rate of three percent.
