
Best terrace in Netherlands located in Zeeland town; A'dam 8th on ranking
Terrace De Werf in the Zeeland town of Veere is the best terrace in the Netherlands, according to the annual Top 100 ranking by Misset Horeca. Brasa in Purmerend and Pelle's in Deurningen took second and third place. Amsterdam's first spot on the ranking is in 8th place with terrace Barca.
De Werf offers "unprecedented hospitality" and "culinary delights", according to Misset Horeca's jury. The terrace was named the best terrace in the Netherlands by the mystery guest, the professional jury, as well as the main jury. They praised De Werf for its excellent service and delicious menu, and owners Bart en Paul Melis for their attention to sustainability and using local products.
The best terrace in Amsterdam is Barca in the Pijp neighborhood, 8th on the ranking. "The Barca terrace is so good that in Spain they named a football club after it", the jury joked. The capital counts another five terraces in the top 100 - Sushisamba in 16th place, Serre in 27th place, Strandzuid in 31st place, De Veranda in 55th place, Caffe Esprit in 76th place, and The Corner in 94th place.
Utrecht is the only other of the four large cities represented on the ranking. The best terrace in the city of Utrecht is Dengh, in 42nd place. The best terrace in Maastricht is Local in 40th place, best in Nijmegen is Tante Koosje in 64th place, and best in Breda is Van Der Valk Princeville in 67th place.
