Rain to give way to more summer-like weather by Sunday

The past weeks of rain and storms seem to finally be giving way to more summery weather, according to Weeronline. From Father's Day on Sunday, the weather will turn increasingly sunny and warm, the weather service expects.

Friday will be warm but mostly cloudy, with maximums ranging between 20 and 26 degrees. There is a chance of some sunshine in the afternoon, but cloud cover will increase again by evening, bringing with them showers and maybe even a thunderstorm.

These showers will move northwards across the Netherlands on Saturday morning. In the afternoon, there will be dry periods with occasional sunshine. Afternoon temperatures will climb to between 19 and 21 degrees.

"On Sunday, Father's Day, the weather looks considerably better", Weeronline said. There will be considerable periods of sunshine, but also some clouds with a small chance of a shower here and there. Maximums will range between 19 and 23 degrees. "Great weather to go out or to light the barbecue in the evening", the weather service said.

Early next week will see great summer weather, with lots of sunshine and temperatures up to 27 degrees. Even higher temperatures are expected for Wednesday, with maximums ranging between 25 and 28 degrees in the coastal provinces, and up to 30 degrees inland.
