Shots fired at two buildings in Utrecht neighborhood

Shots were fired at two buildings in the Utrecht neighborhood of Lombok during the early hours of Wednesday morning. A fish shop on Laan van Nieuw Guinea and a building on the nearby Moskeeplein were targeted. As far as is known, no one was injured, a spokesperson for the police said to NU.nl.

The shooting happened at around 4:30 a.m. The police cordoned off the area and a police helicopter was deployed to survey the scene from above. Forensic investigators are at the scene.

At this stage, little is known about the circumstances around the shootings. No arrests have been made. The police expect to be able to give more information during the course of the day.
