Sunshine and high temperatures this Easter weekend
Easter weekend will be filled with sunshine and high temperatures above 20 degrees. The beautiful spring weather will last the entire weekend, with some places maybe even getting their first summer day of the year, Weerplaza reports.
Friday and Saturday will still start out cool with morning temperatures between 4 and 7 degrees. But in the afternoon maximums will climb to between 20 degrees in the north and 23 degrees in Limburg throughout the weekend. Here and there temperatures may even climb to 25 degrees - considered a summer day. The sky will be clear and blue, with a few clouds appearing in the afternoon.
The wind is expected to be weak to moderate, blowing from the east to southeast. Even the beaches will be pleasant throughout the weekend, though there is a chance of a cold sea wind in the afternoons.
Great news for those planning to spend Easter weekend outside as much as possible. Remember your sunscreen. And despite the warm weather, the sea water is still cold. Be careful of hypothermia if you decide to go swimming, the rescue brigade warned.
Around a million tourists will be visiting the Netherlands this weekend. The Bollenstreek - where fields of tulips, hyacinths and other flowers are in bloom - and museums are expected to be crowded, the NBTC warned.
