Dutch animation Kop Op wins international film award

The Dutch animated short film Kop Op won the Emmy Kids Award in the animation category. The makers at animation studio Job, Joris & Marieke accepted the award in Cannes. They are delighted with the win, they said on Instagram.

Kop Op is about three friends with different cultural backgrounds that have to spend a day living each others' lives after finding a magical washing machine that switched their heads. The three friends were voiced by Nasrdin Dchar, Steye van Dam and Paulien Cornelisse.

This is the seventh time the Emmy for children's programs was awarded. Other Dutch winners in the past included the family film Rababer and the series Kasper en de Kerstengelen, according to NOS.

This is also not the first time that work by Job, Joris & Marieke is noticed by international film critics. In 2015 their short animated film A Single Life was nominated for an Oscar.
