Power outage in Amsterdam

A brief power outage affected parts of Amsterdam Zuid on Tuesday morning. The short blackout started around 8am and was mostly resolved by 8:30 a.m.

Energy grid operator Liander said it could take until 10:30 a.m. for all power to be restored.

The limited interruption held up some tram traffic in the city. The city's Maine public transit form GVB said Tram 24 was facing a disruption. The tram had to detour around Amstelveenseweg, which was affected by the outage. The tram is now gradually returning to its regular schedule, though there may still be some delays, GVB said on Twitter.

According to Liander, postcodes 1078, 1079, 1081, 1082, and 1083 were affected by the power outage. The company did not say what caused the outage. "We apologize for the inconvenience."
