Some 13 gunshots fired at young people on Rotterdam street

Some 13 gunshots were fired at a group of young people standing at the Afrikaanderplein in Rotterdam during the early hours of Saturday morning. As far as is known, no one was hurt. But bullets did hit a parked van and a parked car, AD reports.

The group of young people were standing on the corner of Paul Krugerstraat and Bothastraat at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. They heard a shot, saw a man with a firearm, and then the man started shooting at them, they told newspaper AD. They ran away.

So far no suspects were arrested. The police are calling on witnesses to come forward.

Two weeks ago another group of men were shot at in Katendrecht, less than a kilometer away from Saturday's shooting. A 32-year-old man was killed. The police think he may not have been the intended target of the attack.
