Amsterdam terror suspect to stay in custody

Jawed S., the 19-year-old man suspected of stabbing two American tourists at Amsterdam Central Station, will remain in custody for at least another 90 days, the court in Amsterdam decided on Thursday, NOS reports.

S. stabbed two tourists before being gunned down by the police. The tourists were seriously injured. His first statements to the police revealed that he was acting with a terrorist motive.

According to the young man's lawyer, S. felt insulted by PVV Geert Wilders posting videos featuring cartoons of Islamic religious figure Muhammad and was planning a cartoon contest with similar cartoons.
