Amsterdam terraces still most expensive; Zwolle cheapest

A round of drinks on a terrace is again most expensive in Amsterdam, making the Dutch capital the most expensive terrace city in the Netherlands for the fourth year in a row. Like last year, Zwolle's terraces are cheapest, according to the annual terrace study by consultancy firm Van Spronsen & Partners, ANP reports.

According to the researchers, Amsterdam terraces are most expensive because the retail- and rental prices in the Dutch capital are much higher than elsewhere in the country. A round of two coffees, two sodas, two beers and two glasses of rose now costs an average of 25.10 euros at an Amsterdam terrace, 3.5 percent more expensive than last year.

The Hague is the second most expensive terrace city, followed by Den Bosch, Haarlem and Rotterdam. Rotterdam is three spots higher than on last year's ranking.

In Zwolle a round of drinks is 3.75 euros cheaper than in Amsterdam.
