WWII bomb found in Hoevelaken forest

A 500-pounder bomb dating from the Second World War was found in the Overbos, between Nijkerkstraat and the A28, in Hoevelaken on Tuesday, the police said on Twitter.

The area where the bomb was found has been closed off to the public. The bomb itself was covered with sand and plates, a spokesperson for the police said to NU.nl. A private security company is keeping an eye on the area, and keeping passersby away from the bomb.

"On Wednesday we will discuss what will happen to the bomb. That will certainly involve the explosives disposal service", the police spokesperson said to the newspaper.
